The James Webbe Space Telescope has found definitive evidence of carbon dioxide in the atmospheres of extrasolar planets, NASA said Aug. 25 local time. 

     The carbon-dioxide exoplanet, known as Wasp-39 b, is a gas giant about 700 light-years from Earth, about a quarter the mass of Jupiter, and about the same mass as Saturn, it is 1.3 times the diameter of Jupiter and has a surface temperature of about 900 degrees Celsius. The discovery was made thanks to near-infrared spectroscopy (NIR-RRB- data from Webbwebb telescope, which confirmed the presence of carbon dioxideWasp-39PB.9 b. The Webbe Space Telescope was developed by NASA in conjunction with European Space Agency and the Canadian Space Agency, the 2021 was launched from the French Guiana Guiana Space Centre on December 25 and successfully entered orbit around the sun-earth Lagrangian point on January 24.
