Talk to everyone about the little matter of sewing. Sewing clothes is a common thing in people's daily life, but once upon a time, it alerted a mysterious organization in the United States. What happened in the end, and listen to the small editor for everyone to decompose.
A few years ago, how to save energy and reduce consumption in the sewing and production of military uniforms once became a major problem for the U.S. government department. According to Mao Linlin Motor's small editor, although the soldiers 'uniforms do not require fashionable styles, the amount is quite large. The Pentagon spends about $4 billion a year on uniforms. After struggling, DARPA, the Ministry of Defense's Research and Planning Bureau, awarded a contract of 1.75 million U.S. dollars in 2012 to the fledgling Softwear company, hoping that it could develop automated garment sewing facilities.
Although it is a "new person," it is clear that Softwear, as expected, has done a better job. It is understood that Softwear uses robotic arms and vacuum suction to elevate, place, and maintain the position of the fabric through a machine vision system. Considering fabric folding, thread defects, irregular edges, etc., the robot has to have a mature algorithm, and the imaging system needs to be very fast because a working woman can complete 5,000 stitches in a minute, which leaves the camera. The time is too short. In order to solve this problem, the Softwear system uses a dedicated camera that captures more than 1,000 frames per second and monitors the position of the needle in conjunction with image processing algorithms to make its accuracy within a half mm accuracy range. In this way, high-speed cameras are used to capture the fabric's state, and sewing robots are used to guide sewing needles.
Of course, Softwear's automated sewing robot is far more extraordinary than described above. The robot moved the needle to the cloth instead of the cloth to the needle. This innovation solved the more difficult problem of tension balance in garment sewing.
It is well known that linear motors are widely used as driving devices for robotic arms, although the small homo linear motors are not aware that Softweaar's automatic sewing robots have wood to introduce advanced linear motor equipment. However, modern devices driven by linear motors have been used for garment processing. For example, laser cutting devices driven by linear motors are used for fabric cutting and molding, and marking devices driven by linear motors are used for printing of text and patterns. Linear motor driven point glue device for the garment, etc..
